You'll need some big hands for this but it is worth while. The grip itself seems a little cumbersome at first but you get use to it. The added weight actually balances the camera out even with a simple 50mm. I had never used a vertical grip prior to this but it nice that I can still run on a single battery if needed without having to remove the grip. The spare cartridge (6 AA batteies) was a bonus for me also. My only complaint is the positioning of the controls in relation to the camera when using the camera in the vertical position. The set button and other controls on the camera are just out of reach for me. The controls on the grip itself are in a good position. Just need to watch out for the scroll wheel next to the shutter release. I found myself rolling across it a few times moving from vertical to landscape and it changed my settings. The cleaning kit is is average.
