Olympus D-390 2 MP Digital Camera Specifications

Olympus D-Series cameras are renowned for combining easy-to-use features with high-quality optics for great-looking results, and the Camedia D-390 lives up to that tradition. Featuring a compact body and 2-megapixel resolution, the D-390 is the most affordable digital camera from Olympus, making an ideal choice for beginners in digital photography.

The D-390 has a durable plastic body with a sliding clamshell lens barrier. Its small size is due, in part, to the use of the miniature XD memory card--the D-390 is 15% smaller than its predecessor the D-380--making it easy to slip into your pocket.

The 2-megapixel resolution will produce images up to 1600 x 1200 pixels for print enlargements up to 8 x 10 inches. The D-390 features a high-quality, all-glass Olympus lens that's specially designed for digital cameras. It also offers a 2.5x digital zoom to help you get in closer to your subjects.

The included 16 MB XD memory card will store approximately 32 images captured at 1600 x 1200 pixels in HQ mode. Images can be downloaded to either a Mac or PC via USB connectivity, which means it can be connected to any USB-based Windows Me/2000/XP and Mac OS 8.6 or later computer without installing any software.

Other features include:

• 1.8-inch color TFT (transreflective) LCD screen for reviewing and editing images.
• Built-in flash with auto, red-eye reduction, fill in, and slow synch modes.
• Four scene program modes including Portrait, Landscape, Night Scene, and Self-Portrait.
• Movie mode (with no sound) for video at 320 x 240 (up to 15 seconds) or 160 x 120 (up to 60 seconds)

The camera is powered by two AA batteries (included); rechargeable AA-size NiMH batteries are. It measures 4.2 x 2.3 x 1.6 inches and weighs 5.8 ounces. This package includes the Camedia D-390 digital camera, 16 MB XD memory card, batteries, USB and A/V cables, wrist strap, and CD-ROM with Camedia Master imaging software and USB drivers for Windows and Mac.

Olympus D560 3.2 MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom

Olympus D560 3.2 MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom Review

I've had my camera for a bit over 4 years now, and it still works great. I know the problem that the previous person has had, but I figured out how to fix it somehow (probably something with the batteries). This camera takes 2 double A batteries and I use the rechargable ones. However, the batteries don't have much life in them after a year and run out of juice pretty fast so I always have to bring lots of spares (think like 3 replacement sets for an event where you take lots of pics).

It does take video, but the quality isn't worth it for the 60 seconds you get. There is no sound recorded for the video.

The best thing I can say about this camera is that if you know how to use it well, it takes really good quality pictures. Get familiar with the different settings and learn how to control what the camera does, and with that I'd argue it is almost as good as my friend's 0 camera for sheer beauty of pictures. The only glitch is I hate the flash. I just don't tend to like pictures with flash anyways, I like the more yellowy natural light look. I also tend to have a problem with red-eye with regular flash so I always have to use the red-eye reduction setting to take pics of people. This camera also comes with a panorama setting which works well with the program that comes with it (with some practice).

I really like how you don't need a card reader to download your pics onto your computer - the USB cable (which is a pretty common cable among electronics) plugs right into the camera port.

Overall a great camera for its current price, great camera overall in my opinion, and a wonderful camera for learning how to take and edit digital photographs!

Olympus D560 3.2 MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom Specifications

Dive into the world of digital photography with the easy-to-use Olympus Camedia D-560. Following in the footsteps of the D-550, the new D-560 offers a redesigned body that's more sleek and compact as well as a higher resolution CCD sensor (3.2 megapixels) for print enlargements up to 11 x 14 inches.

Optics and Resolution
Featuring a 3.2-megapixel CCD sensor, the D-560 delivers image detail up to 2048 x 1536 pixels. The Olympus aspherical glass 3x zoom lens (5.8-17.4mm, or 25-105mm equivalency in 35mm photography) also offers a 3.4x digital zoom for a 10x total.

The C-560 also features Olympus TruePic technology, which optimizes the image information captured on the CCD before the data is saved by using the brightness and color information of the neighboring pixels when processing the pixel data. This leads to digital pictures that set standards for picture sharpness, contrast, true colors, and gradation.

Storage and Transfer
The included 16 MB XD memory card will store approximately 20 images captured at 2048 x 1536 pixels in HQ mode. Images can be downloaded to either a Mac or PC via USB connectivity, which means it can be connected to any USB-based Windows Me/2000/XP and Mac OS 8.6 or later computer without installing any software.

Movie Mode
In movie mode, the C-560 captures continuous video (with no sound) at 15 frames per second in two formats: 320 x 240 (up to 15 seconds) or 160 x 120 pixels (up to 60 seconds). The QuickTime Motion JPEG format offers a limited resolution, which is great for capturing a short movie that can be e-mailed to friends and family, but is no replacement for a true camcorder.

Olympus Evolt E410 10MP Digital SLR Camera with 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 and 40-150mm f/4.0-5.6 Zuiko Lenses

Olympus Evolt E410 10MP Digital SLR Camera with 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 and 40-150mm f/4.0-5.6 Zuiko Lenses Review

This is an excellent camera.

Over many years, I've shot with many cameras and in many formats: 4x5 inch sheet film in a view camera; 120 film in a Yashica TLR and in a rollholder back on a Speed Graphic and a Galvin medium format view camera; and 35 mm in rangefinders and SLRs -- Canon, Pentax, Rollei, and many Nikon models. Nikon is what I standardized on for 35 mm and eventually digital for 30 years.

I bought the Olympus e-410 about a year ago because I wanted something smaller and lighter than my Nikon equipment for pleasure travel. I haven't been disappointed. The camera is light, has a small footprint, and I get crisp, well-exposed images (by the way I almost never use the auto or scene settings).

4:3 format: No problem. It makes prints at the standard print sizes of 4x5, 5x7 and 8x10 inches with almost no cropping.

Battery life: I find no difference between the e-410 and my Nikon -- but then I never let the battery run down and I always have a charged spare on hand.

Live view: Who cares? People who like to wave their cameras around at arm's length, look at the screen, and get unsharp images should buy point and shoots. Anti-shake technology was developed for them. The rest of us hold the camera in both hands (or better still, put it on a tripod) and use the viewfinder.

Sharpness: every digital image requires sharpening in post-processing, no matter what camera produces it.

White balance and ISO-equivalent: I ran a bunch of tests (just as I have always done with every single different film used with every single lens in every single camera), and I made notes on the adjustments I needed to make in every single white balance/exposure situation. No camera comes out of the box perfect. There are countless hours of very dull testing work associated with photography if you want to do it right -- and it takes less time to do it with digital than in the darkroom.

Augustus Review Olympus PEN E-PL1

Review 1:

You're about affirmed to get HD video no amount which new camera you buy in this amount point, so decay or no waste, it's there.
The E-PL1 is in the Micro Four Thirds format, which agency it doesn't accept a mirror central like acceptable dSLRs do, so they're abundant added compact. Purists/traditionalists accept alloyed animosity on the format, but if you're a accidental user, you apparently won't affliction as continued as you can alive after an optical viewfinder (the E-PL1 does use an cyberbanking viewfinder, so you don't accept to await on the LCD).
The E-PL1 is the aboriginal changeable lens camera you can buy appropriate now. The photo affection is about as acceptable as a accurate dSLR, and you'll pay a little beneath than you would for an abecedarian dSLR, a little added than a accurate bottom-end dSLR.
Comparable cameras in this amount ambit would accommodate the Panasonic G10 (not yet accessible aloof yet, a few added weeks, and it's additionally a Micro Four Thirds format), article like the Nikon D3000 (low-end dSLR), Canon XS (ditto), or Pentax K-x (ditto). Each has their pros and cons. The E-PL1's better pro is the baby size. If you like the attending of it, I anticipate you'll be blessed with it as a hobbyist/casual user. Hope this helps.

Review 2:
I'm attractive for the Augustus Review Olympus PEN E-PL1 best beneath 1000 camera thats abate the a dsrl that shoots abundant HD video. Im activity across and I don't appetite article too bulky, but I would like to use it for video and photos. some of the cameras assume to alone shoot video for a few min and again stop. I was cerebration the panasonic g10 but that won't be out in time. The Nikon coolpix 100 has bad reviews on the stills.

Olympus E-PL1 Review

Olympus E-PL1 Review

Dpreview has a comprehensive review of the recently released Olympus E-PL1 Micro Four Thirds camera. As a reminder, the E-PL1 boasts an accessory port for add-ons such as the electronic viewfinder. This 12-megapixel camera also features a simplified Live Guide interface, a 2.7-inch LCD screen (230,000 dots), a built-in flash, a 720p HD video recording (MJPEG compression), ISO 100-3200, and 6 Art Filter creative effects. Here is the verdict:

The E-PL1 is the first mirrorless camera to marry its size and image quality advantages to the accessibility of a compact camera. Olympus has simply slipped an easy-to-use interface on top of its PEN DSLR-in-a-smaller-box concept. That power is there if you want it, even if the pared back design means the operation isnt as quick as it can be with the other PENs. Point-and-shoot users wont get the very most out of the camera but, thanks to an excellent JPEG engine, its likely theyll spend much of their time too delighted by their pictures to worry about it.

You can purchase the Olympus PEN E-PL1 for $599.99. See more pictures after the jump.
