blocking in shape for painting to create under-painting then assigning value and color composition, and refining detail for the final concept painting. Demonstrating how to quickly create an efficient concept design from concept idea into visual. How to put rough idea onto the paper sketch.

1) lay down the base color
2) blocking in shape for painting

2) blocking in shape further more to create focal aren of the image and arrange the composition.

3) assigning value and color composition. Adding micro detail.


4) Creating scale, depth of field using figure and refining the lighting and overall value.

Then from here you have the image that you can possibly take it as far as you can in term of pushing detail and realistic if you maintain the idea of the value, composition and color.

For real, I can only wish, I am just saying what if...

Anyway, More Robotech info:
according to the Hollywood Reporter, Tobey Maguire is going to produce, and possibly star in, a live-action movie based on the Robotechaka Macross TV series Anyone who got into the show in the mid-Eighties will tell you that Robotech had a level of depth and realism well beyond that of any other animated series on US television at the time, which isn't at all surprising considering its Japanese origins (Robotech is credited with helping introduce anime to American audiences). Anyway, hopefully Tobey won't dumb things down like Michael Bay did with the Transformers movie. It was tough enough discovering a few years later that the entire show was actually three entirely different Japanese anime series awkwardly grafted together so that they'd have enough episodes for syndication in the US market -- turning Robotech into yet another mindless action fest might just be too much to take.
*I really have no idea if Johansson will be cast into this but she will appear with Natalie Portman in the up coming film "The Other Boleyn Girl."

Maguire not only would occupy producer's cargo in the movie. since also his idea would be to be the protagonist of the movie version of this classic, The script for the big screen will be written by Craig Zahler.

After slipping on a mask for Spider-Man, Tobey Maguire might be slipping into a giant robot for "Robotech." After a lengthy negotiation, Warner Bros. Pictures has picked up the rights to bring anime classic "Robotech," which featured giant robots known as mechas, to the big screen. Maguire is producing through his Maguire Entertainment banner and is eyeing the lead role in what the studio plans on being a tentpole sci-fi franchise. "We are very excited to bring 'Robotech' to the big screen," Maguire said. "There is a rich mythology that will be a great foundation for a sophisticated, smart and entertaining film." Drew Crevello also is producing through his Supercool Hollywood BigTime Prods. Craig Zahler ("The Brigands of Rattleborge") has been tapped to write the screenplay. "Robotech" was a cartoon series during the 1980s from Harmony Gold USA and Tatsunoko Prods. It was re-edited and re-dialogued to combine three Japanese anime series to give the producers enough episodes to air as a daily syndicated series.

I am not sure if Togey will be playing Rick Hunter, but I want to have fun doodling it. I am a big fan of Macross.
