Panasonic Lumix GH1 Does 1080p Video

Panasonic ups the ante with its new Lumix GH1 digital SLR that is able to do video recording in full high definition (1080p) resolution as well when you prefer to shoot video instead of stills, all from the same device so that there is no more need to purchase an additional camcorder. Panasonic hopes the GH1 will take video capture with a DSLR to a different level, and will be easy to use for both beginners and seasoned veterans alike, thanks to the fully automatic iA mode. The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-GH1 also holds the distinction of being the first camera in the world with exchangeable lenses that can capture full High Definition video in a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels and 60fps. The format of choice for these video clips is AVCHD (MPEG-4/H.264). Sounds like a dream DSLR, so hopefully the final price will be within reasonable limits.
