Sharp Electronics introduces another member of its digital camcorder product line, Viewcam model Sharp VL-NZ8U. This full-motion digital camcorder combines the compact styling of a digital still camera with exceptional video image quality, at an attractive price point. Weighing in at approximately one pound (without battery pack and cassette), and measuring 5 3/8"(W) x 3"(H) x 2 5/16"(D), this digital camcorder is the ideal size for consumers to take anywhere. With a three-inch color LCD (liquid crystal display) screen that rotates 270-degrees for viewing at various angles, the VL-NZ8U helps consumers capture more stable video than traditional camcorders that require users to shoot video by looking through an eyepiece.

To further enhance video shooting quality, the LCD screen incorporates an onscreen recording guide, helping users to take better pictures and frame their images with the gridline guides. Additionally, the LCD screen provides low light reflectivity for improved picture quality in all lighting environments. The VL-NZ8U features a 680, 000-pixel progressive scan CCD, delivering up to 500 lines of resolution. This DIGITAL CAMCORDER includes Sharp's exclusive Digital Gamma Correction technology, which minimizes dark areas in a video by increasing the brightness of the subject while leaving the brighter portion of the image unaffected. The VL-NZ8U also includes a memory card slot to capture digital still images with the use of an optional SD/MMC memory card.
