Olympus E-3 receives DIWA Gold Award

Hamburg, 3 April 2008 The Digital Imaging Websites Association (DIWA) has bestowed a prestigious Gold Award on the Olympus E-3. The flagship of the Olympus D-SLR range was cited as a worthy winner due to its unique technological features in four key areas: speed, live view, image quality and versatility. DIWA is an association comprised of a pool of independent web-based specialist publications from across Europe.

The DIWA jury was won over by the E-3s unbeatable combination of features, including the worlds fastest autofocus (with SWD lenses), Live View in combination with a multi-angle monitor, 10MP image resolution and a built-in sensor shift image stabiliser. Continuing the accolades, the judges noted that: Excellent handling and ergonomics, high image quality, and compatibility to the outstanding range of powerful, yet compact range of ZUIKO DIGITAL lenses, have been highly appreciated in numerous DIWA tests, qualifying the Olympus E-3 for a DIWA Gold Award.

This latest Olympus E-System camera is the long-awaited successor to the pioneering Four Thirds System-based Olympus E-1. Built for the specific demands of digital SLR photography, the E-3 accepts no compromises to deliver highest-quality results for professional photographers. Summing up, DIWA test manager Kai Thon remarked that the E-3 was certainly well worth the wait.
