Nikon's Project Assistance Awards photo competition returns again next year

BJP is pleased to announce that it's partnership with Nikon on the Project Assistance Awards will continue next year in its current format.

Fifty entries submitted throughout the year will feature in weekly editions of BJP, and a shortlist of eight will be decided in early 2009, from which an overall winner will be chosen for the 5000 bursary towards completion of a new or ongoing project.

This year's shortlist will be announced in the New Year.

Entrants are asked to read the contest guidelines - online at www.bjp-online.com/paa - carefully before entering.

Entries are now being accepted for the 2008 competition. Please mark your package with 'PAA' and send to Mick Moore at BJP, Incisive Media, 32-34 Broadwick Street, Soho, London W1A 2HG. Selected entries from 2007 that have not already been published or returned will be held in consideration for 2008.

The deadline for entries is 05 December 2008. However, BJP editor Simon Bainbridge advises that entrants get their work to the magazine as soon as possible as a deluge of submissions close to deadline means that many good entries will not make it through. 'After the deadline there will only be two editions of the magazine in which to have your work published, and only published entries go forward for contention for the 5000 prize,' he explains. 'Therefore, you stand a better chance of making the top 50 if you get your work to us earlier in the year.'
