Finalists Announced for CSL Photo Competition


Beating off competition from over 200 entries, ten very talented individuals have the chance of being crowned Young Fashion Photographer of the Year at Clothes Show Live 2007.

The lucky finalists will see their photographs displayed and judged at the show on Tuesday 11th December 2007 and the overall winner will receive a set of fantastic prizes including �2000 worth of prize money, �1000 worth of Nikon photographic equipment, �1000 donated to her college art department plus an internship with leading Fashion Photographer Will Whipple. All runners-up will have their work displayed at the show throughout the week, and will also get the opportunity to take their own professional catwalk pictures from within the photographers� pen at Clothes Show Live 2007.

After a very successful debut year the competition, in association with Nikon, invited young photographers from across the UK aged 16-25 to use their imagination and photographic skills to capture their vision of �Cool Britannia� in 2007. One of the finalists Joanna Briggs, 19 from Stafford College is thrilled at the prospect of her design being showcased on the designer catwalk, �I cannot believe I am part of such an amazing event like the Clothes Show Live. I�m so excited that my photograph is be to mounted at the show and that key industry figures will be looking at my work!�

The judging panel consists of leading Fashion Photographer Will Whipple, Nikon's Group Marketing Manager Jeremy Gilbert and Gavin Brown, Managing Director of Haymarket Exhibitions Ltd. Will added, �I was extremely impressed with the level of entries. Each interpretation of the brief was very individual - the photographs are going to look fantastic mounted at the show. Plus the great prizes the winner will receive should hopefully help them progress their career.�

The Young Fashion Photographer competition is part of a wider Clothes Show Live Education Bursary project. Open to talent aged 13 upwards, the bursary supports young fashion and design talent, with the objective of turning this talent into broad based ability and knowledge that delivers well-rounded proficiency at all levels.
