The fast new 40mm and 58mm manual-focus lenses are compatible with Nikon and Pentax digital SLRs.
Cosina has unveiled two fast new prime lenses under the Voigtlaender brand. The Nokton 1.4 58mm SL II and Ultron 2.0 40mm SL II are available with Nikon AI-S and Pentax KA mounts. They do not offer autofocus, but support the metering systems of compatible cameras.
The extremely compact Ultron 2.0 40mm SL II has a pancake-lens design, with a depth of only 0.96 inch and a 7-ounce weight. With a maximum aperture of f/2.0 and a minimum of f/22, it can focus as close as 1.2 feet. It comes with an attachable close-up lens that increases image magnification from 1:7 to 1:4. The lens takes 52mm filters.
