Olympus E-3 and lens availability news for the UK

By all accounts, the demand for the new Olympus E-3 is strong and this has been matched by pre-orders for the other new products arriving from Olympus, including the Zuiko Digital 12-60 f/2.8-4 SWD standard zoom, Zuiko Digial 70-300 f/4-5.6, Zuiko Digital 50-200 f/2.8-3.5 SWD and the EC-20 2x converter.

I've been talking to Olympus UK and this is the gist of the situation:

• 70-300 a shipment is due early November, with batches thereafter - there are a lot on pre-order.
• E-3 Body - these will be hitting the stores by the end of November, but supplies will be limited.
• E3+12-60 kits - same as above.
• 50-200mm SWD, again, should be arriving around the end of November.
• EC-20 converter - end of November.
• 12-60 on its own - mid December.
