Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III on track for mid-November delivery

Canon is on track to begin shipping the 21.03 million image pixel EOS-1Ds Mark III in mid-November 2007, says Chuck Westfall, Canon USA's Director of Media and Customer Relationship. An exact release date hasn't been set, but is expected to fall right around the middle of next month in the USA, and probably other regions worldwide too.

The company is also gearing up for a Web release of v6.0 of ImageBrowser (Mac)/ZoomBrowser EX (Windows). The Mac version of Canon's basic browsing application, which is currently bundled with the PowerShot G9, is now a Universal Binary for native performance on Macs with Intel processors. The Universal Binary treatment has also been given to RAW Image Task 3.0, ImageBrowser's companion application that handles RAW conversions. RAW Image Task has also undergone a significant interface overhaul.
