PENTAX K10D Wins 2007-08 EISA European Camera of the Year

GOLDEN, CO (August 15, 2007)�PENTAX Imaging Company is pleased to announce that the PENTAX K10D lens-interchangeable digital SLR camera was selected as the �EISA European Camera of the Year 2007-2008� by the prestigious European Imaging & Sound Association (EISA). EISA is an organization comprised of 50 leading Photo, Video, Audio, Home Theater, and Mobile Electronics magazines from 18 European countries. Every year, EISA recognizes outstanding products introduced to the European market in the previous year.

The EISA panel concluded that the PENTAX K10D is the ideal camera for enthusiast and advanced users. Offering 10.2 effective megapixels and PENTAX-original SR (Shake Reduction), the PENTAX K10D features a mechanism that delivers sharp and crisp photographs even at slow shutter speeds. In addition, the high performance A/D converter with the highest resolving power of 22bits faithfully converts a large volume of data and enables the K10D to produce high-definition, true-to life images through a newly incorporated imaging engine. The camera's dust and water-resistant construction makes the K10D suitable for use in almost all conditions.

The PENTAX K10D also was selected as the Best D-SLR Expert in Europe 2007 by the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA), and the camera was awarded the Camera Grand Prix 2007 by Camera Journal Press Club (CJPC) in Japan. Winning the EISA European Camera of the Year 2007-2008 gives the PENTAX K10D the distinction of earning three major awards camera awards in Europe and Japan.

In the United States, the camera also received additional recognition as a 2007 Consumer Electronics Association Innovations 2007 Design and Engineering Awards Honoree. American Photo and MacLife Magazines also awarded the camera with Editor's Choice awards in 2007.
